Job Description

Responsibilities:
Finance Business Partner

• Key Business Partner to Site Management Team in driving financial performance and results.
• Lead the quarterly forecasting process to drive business performance to meet Financial forecast accuracy targets (2% accuracy)
• Proactively lead and communicate the exchange of financial information to key stakeholders:
• Build a deep financial acumen across the organization.
• Advise on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies and actions impacting site performance
• Drive ITW Toolbox activity to reduce complexity in site operations and business processes:
• Lead Quads and Quartiles and Segmented P&L reviews to identify improvement opportunities.
• Drive local ERP tool box projects to simplify process

Custodian of Financials
• Focus on financial governance and internal controls:
• Financial reporting
• Balance sheet control
• Tax compliance
• Internal audit

Talent Manager
• Lead, manage and develop the capabilities of the local Finance team.
• Supervise and review Finance team activity to ensure all transactions are recorded in an efficient and timely manner.
• Lead team in accordance with division goals and finance vision

Key Deliverables to Demonstrate Success in 12 months:
1. Assume key local leadership role on Houston Management team; partner with Plant Manager and HR Generalist
2. Build understanding of Valeron strategic intent, long range plan, annual plan with strong emphasis on plant operations.
3. Manage and document compliance to accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
4. Understand and apply ITW financial policies consistently and effectively. Ensure that accurate financial records and strong internal controls are in place and being followed.
5. Analyze the financial details of past, present and expected operations in order to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed. Perform analytical reviews of data and explain variances against plan, outlook and prior year.
6. Understand and beginning to apply the ITW Principles (80/20, Product Line Simplification, Segmentation, In-lining, and Market Rate of Demand) to eliminate complexity and improve profitability of the company. Participate in teams and play a lead role in the collection and analysis of data for these projects.

Skills and Experience Needed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA a plus, CPA preferred
• The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years of accounting experience including general and cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication, written and presentation skills
• Preferably 1 – 2 years’ experience with people leadership and management of direct and/or indirect employees.
• Strong understanding and application of accounting principles/practices
• Ability to analyze financial data and complete financial reporting
• Demonstrated accountability for results and understanding of the financial impact of decisions
• Track record of process improvement in accounting area
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office software; strong Excel skills are essential
