Position at ITW Corporate

The Senior Sourcing Analyst for Strategic Sourcing will manage sourcing initiatives related to ITW’s Global Chemicals Spend. Strong technical and analytical skills will be required to identify opportunities and needs across ITW’s seven business segments. This position will contribute in the creation of sourcing strategies for critical cross-segment spend and defining actionable steps that provides value to the enterprise.

The Analyst will conduct broad market research to identify World Class Suppliers for a range of chemical commodities and derivatives as well as track market price drivers for each product category. Other responsibilities will include Master Price List Management, Cost Modeling and Contract Negotiation. Knowledge in one or more of the following commodity categories will benefit the performance of the individual in this role: solvents, epoxies, acrylates, and urethanes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical), Chemistry, Materials Science, Economics
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering or operations role that manufactures or formulates chemicals or plastics, direct procurement or supply chain management of commodity chemicals or plastics, or R&D experience supporting pilot plant or larger scale production.
  • Willingness to travel 20%
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Business Acumen/Leadership & Communication Skills
  • Ability to support/manage projects across business units
  • Technical Inclination & Intellectual Curiosity
  • Ability to develop basic understanding of assigned commodities, including but not limited to: current market conditions, key cost drivers, global supply base, and industry terminology, as it relates to creating competitive purchasing programs for ITW companies
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis, and problem solving (showing expertise in data analysis and management using MS Excel, PowerBI, etc).
