Job Description

Perform moderately complex accounts payable/receivable work and first level payroll clerical work.  Accounting work consists of reviewing and verifying calculations of incoming billings; matching invoices with PO's and statements; check authorizations and signature; post entries, reconcile bills; prepare 1099's, process checks, etc.  Payroll work includes totaling hours, checking computations of timekeeping system, and researching shortage claims. Work will include coordinating with Corporate Payroll Service to produce calculations, print checks and prepare total payroll reports. As this position has regular access to business unit employee salary data, it is required for the incumbent to maintain a strong level of confidentiality.

Compensation: +/- $40,000/year and to commensurate with experience. Gaylord also has an excellent benefit package. 


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Match all incoming invoices to packing slips and purchase orders to verify propriety of the invoices and obtain all necessary approvals according to the company approval policy. • Accurately code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts. • Process weekly system-generated check runs in a timely manner, to ensure all discount advantages and to deter late charges accessed to the Company. • Research vendor statements, phone calls and discrepancies. • Maintain all vendor files, including hard copy and system data. • Assist with all monthly, quarterly and yearly closing activities, including, but not limited to processing of Form 1099, accrual reports, GRN, and aging reports. • Review and edit employee weekly time transactions (if necessary) for the purpose of processing accurate and timely, BI-weekly payroll. • Prepare payroll and benefit-related documents, as required. • Professionally administer all incoming calls.  • Ensure phone calls are redirected accordingly. • Greet guests in a professional, friendly, hospitable manner. • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Required Education

o High School Diploma or GED equivalent

o Minimum 1+ year related Accounting experience o Minimum 1+ year related training and experience or equivalent in Payroll
