Food Retail Equipment Distributor (FRED) Manager – Global Retail

In this role, you will be responsible sales growth in our Food Retail Equipment Distribution (FREDs) Channel. You will be responsible for evaluating, training, developing and managing this channel by driving high-level performance, increasing market share, and achieving targeted unit sales and profit margins. This position will be responsible for the strategic development of this customer segment and report directly to the V.P. of Sales, Retail.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 Execute proactive strategic outreach to the FRED group with the goal of positioning and realizing future sales opportunities and exceeding customer expectations.

 Develop current FRED’s by cultivating new relationships and migrating existing customers at higher levels.

 Understand execution strategies and decision- making process and be an advocate. Support key company events and product launches through tactical processes. Ensure alignment and accountability with both Global Retail and FREDs.

 Develop short and long-term strategic plans including the preparation of annual business plans and budgets. Maintain deep understanding of key operational issues, trends, and emerging strategies of the industry.

 Work with the FREDS to develop, implement and drive sales action plans to penetrate and maximize sales volume. Analyze and monitor performance vs. metrics and adjust strategies and tactical execution as necessary.

 Work with all product lines on enhancements and new product development; marketing programs; sales tools; and pricing strategies related to the industry.

 Manage all pricing issues and maintain discounting to acceptable levels.

 Have expertise in specifications, application and all ITW FEG equipment lines as well as working knowledge of overall kitchen design and operations.

 Manage and attend all customer and industry trade shows.

 Coordinate within established guidelines all VIP visits for assigned accounts.

 Recruit, retain and motivate sales talent to ensure the highest levels of service and performance.

 Train, coach, motivate and develop. Participation in and completion of all applicable training – including ongoing skill and knowledge development beyond initial training.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  Bachelor’s Degree

  10 years’ progressive sales management experience

  3 – 5 years field sales management

  Strong leadership experience with demonstrated success in managing and developing sales channels and strategies through solid business relationships

  Ability to motivate, inspire and lead a professional sales team

  Experience with product and service sales

  Solid negotiation, conflict resolution skills

  Knowledge of cost analysis, fiscal management and budgeting techniques

  Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills

  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  Requires 50% travel

Preferred Qualifications

  Advanced degree

  Foodservice experience is a plus
