Job Description

Gaylord has immediate openings for experienced Tig Welders in Tualatin, Oregon.  If you are looking for a place to call home, with excellent benefits, and competetive pay, this is the place for you.  It is a requirement to have * tig welding experience. As a member of the team, you will assemble and weld custom kitchen ventilation equipment and their components.

* Important to note: this role does require tig welding expereince, however, about 15% of the job is welding and the majority of the role entails manufacturing our ventilation systems. 
Shifts available: Day and swing shift, but all hires need to be trained on days, first. Swing shift receives a $2.50 shift differencial in addition to their hourly rate. This role is Monday through Friday and is a 55 hour per week role. (Mandatory OT)
Compensation: ~ $18 per hour 


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, Tig fillet weld and finish associated stainless steel equipment and components from blueprints, sketches and verbal direction
  • Work to gain knowledge and new techniques to improve and increase productivity
  • Follow all safety and housekeeping rules
  • Actively participate in Safety Program
  • Follow company policies
  • Willing to assist in other areas as needed

Required Qualifications


Body Movements – amount of time spent performing each physical requirement:

  • Occasional – 1/3 or less
  • Frequent – 1/3 to 2/3
  • Continuous – 2/3 or more

Frequent to Continuous: standing, walking, twisting, turning, bending, and reaching.

Occasional to Frequent:  ability to lift up to 50lbs+ and work with arms extended at shoulder level or above

Occasional:  sitting, pushing and pulling, working from a kneeling position, climb and work from ladders

Required Skills

  • Minimum age requirement is 18 years
  • Demonstrate basic Tig welding, grinding and finishing skills (demonstration required)
  • Working knowledge of the following tools: drill motors, cutoff saws, Grinders, drill press, Tapping tools, belt sanders and various hand tools
  • Proficiently read and use a tape measure
  • Read and understand English in order to read/interpret prints, diagrams and drawings
  • Proficient math skills
  • Must be a team player, including good interpersonal skills

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  •  6+ months basic Tig welding experience required
  • Forklift experience.  *Gaylord certification will be required

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with sheet metal manufacturing
  • Experience working in a production environment
