Job Description


The Plant Supervisor is responsible for directly overseeing and supervising the processing floor employees and floor activities. This includes managing all aspects of manufacturing, which include mixing, packaging, coordination with Q.C. for timely testing and coordination with the warehouse for timely shipping. The Production Supervisor ensures that all plant employees adhere to and consistently follow all work rules and safety and compliance policies and procedures, manages the production of all the company’s products at optimum quality, and maintains an efficient manufacturing service that achieves established KPI’s.


• Generates master production schedule for all work centers and approves/oversees any changes to it.

• Assigns priorities to the different work orders based on personnel/equipment availability.

• Assists leads/operators in troubleshooting quality issues. Strongly involved with the implementation of quality improvement plans.

• Master Jomar production and purchasing procedures.

• Oversee Kanban system for raw materials and finished goods.

• Establish daily production goals. Provide regular feedback on plant’s performance.

• Assist with accident investigations and corrective action implementation.

• Creates production employee development goals, plans and documents accordingly.

• Evaluate performance of direct reports. Provide direct feedback to operators as needed. Coach the production team for the highest level of excellence.

• Ensure production activities operate within the requirements of both external certification and defined in-house procedures.

• Evaluate repair and modification requests of plant equipment and systems from plant personnel.

• Document and record various aspects of plant operations which include employee production, inventory, safety incidences, personnel absenteeism and their respective corrective actions.

• Other related duties as directed by management (including filling in as a team lead, or

for the plant manager when they are out of the plant)


• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and volume.

• Ability to perform complex analytical comparisons, solve algebraic calculations and understand and prepare scheduling and production reports.

• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with employees, vendors, customers and other company contacts.

• Ability to understand and communicate precise technical and business information to members of senior management as well as subordinates.

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and resolve practical problems and issues.


• Two-Year College degree in Business or related discipline (Four-Year degree preferred)

• Three (3) or more years in a Supervisory role in a manufacturing environment required (preferably in an industry related environment).

• Strong inventory management skills. Experience with Kanban a plus.

• Intermediate MS Office skills required (Word, Excel, Power Point).


1. Constantly indoors in a controlled environment (66% to 100% of the time).

2. Frequently exposed to a manufacturing environment with limited heat or air conditioning (33%-66% of the time). Conditions may be cold or extremely hot and humid.

3. Frequent exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles, and to the hazards of moving equipment and moving mechanical parts (33%-66% of the time), requiring the use of personal protective safety equipment (PPE’s).

4. Moderate noise.
