Job Title: Security Press Operator 2 nd shift

Division: ITW Graphics

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hourly


SUMMARY : Perform somewhat repetitive and routine duties to start-up, troubleshoot, and monitor a 2 station printing press to meet quality and productivity standards. Perform diversified duties to inspect and ship product in accordance with product specifications and department schedules.



SAFETY REQUIREMENTS :


Required and responsible for employee safety, attending safety training, complying with all company safety and work policies and reporting all accidents/injuries immediately to their Manager and HR Department.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :


High school diploma or equivalent reading, writing and math skills commensurate with a diploma.



LANGUAGE SKILLS:


Must be able to understand and communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and managers.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :



Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


REASONING ABILITY


Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


Ability to handle multiple tasks, detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to operate Machinery, use a computer and various other office equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.



Employees cannot bring cell phones, cameras or other recording devices, without prior management approval, into the secure printing area.



Employees will not share confidential information (electronic, hard copy or verbal) with anyone, including fellow employees.



Employees will report any breach (a potential failure on ITW Covid Security Group’s security system) to their supervisor or the security manager immediately.



Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

-Working from specification sheets, prescribed procedures or verbal communication, perform all required set-up operations at multiple print stations to be run   simultaneously.

-Ensure correct stock, screens, and inks.

-Employees will maintain accurate inventory levels at all stages of manufacture and report any discrepancies to their supervisor.

-Make prescribed adjustments in feed stroke, squeegee levels, and length.

-Check tension to correspond with mesh requirements.

-Ensure color standards and AQS file are available on press. Start-up press and monitor registration and ink performance.

-Troubleshoot press problems, making adjustments to press for corrections of defects; make prescribed adjustments to ensure proper indexing between the two   print stations, where applicable.

-Utilize judgment in performing on-press inspection to ensure quality standards are met with all non-conforming material marked out properly.

-Make appropriate notations complete paperwork required and established in the printing press.

-Maintain effective communication with other department personnel to resolve press related problems and support work flow.

-Perform job and color changes assuring press is cleaned properly, screens are free of defects and images are clear. Report unusual or irresolvable situations to    appropriate personnel within the unit or service department.

-Adjusting inks for proper viscosity, as is necessary, for specific product applications.

-Ensure all components required to run the press are ready and at the press at all times.

-OPI Support – (Inspection, slitting, packing & palletizing)

-Clean screens and work area(s)

-Maintain 5S program and standards set in work areas and facility

-Visually inspect job for defects during printing process. Remove defects and splice roll.

-Prepare completed order for shipping as required following specified procedures for boxing, labels and paperwork. Move boxed product to shipping area.
