Payroll Specialist - Troy, OH

Illinois Tool Works (ITW) is a Fortune 200 company that produces diversified products in global markets.  Some of its products include welding equipment, automotive components, construction materials and commercial food equipment.  The Food Equipment Group, one of seven ITW decentralized business segments, is seeking an Accountant II for the Hobart Service Division at its Troy, Ohio facility, located 20 minutes north of the Dayton metropolitan area.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, a successful candidate will need to be professional and be able to handle confidential information.  The position requires a highly organized individual capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.  They will be a self-starter capable of independent work and possess attention to detail, focusing on accuracy.

Job Responsibilities
  • Process Biweekly Payroll
  • Prepare Certified Payroll Reports
  • Coordinate garnishment, child support, tax levies, with ITW Corporate Payroll
  • Filter and answer employee questions
  • Monitor STD/WC/FMLA leave
  • Prepare labors reports as necessary
  • Business Licenses
  • Insurance Certificates
  • Other duties as appropriate within the scope of this role
Minimum Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 2-4 years of relevant payroll experience involving multiple states
  • Attention to detail with accuracy
  • Excellent Communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Excellent command of MS Office, with a focus on Microsoft Excel. Experience as a functional owner with payroll systems such as Ceridian or Dayforce.
  • Project management skills and the ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and requirements
  • Analytical mindset, be able to bring new ideas to increase efficiency of existing process
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision with a hands-on approach
Preferred:
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or business
  • 4-7 years of payroll experience with multiple states
