ITW Business Model

ITW’s Business Model is the company’s unique competitive advantage and its core source of value creation.  The business model is comprised of three elements:

Ø  80/20 Management Process:  A proprietary operating system that is applied in every ITW business.  Put simply, 80/20 focuses on the top opportunities and priorities (the “80”) and eliminates the less profitable opportunities and distractions (the “20”).

Ø  Customer-back Innovation:  This approach is focused on first understanding customer needs and opportunities then creating innovative solutions to specifically meet those needs.

Ø  Decentralized/Entrepreneurial Culture:  ITW businesses operate in a decentralized environment which allows each business to maintain exceptional focus and unparalleled ability to respond to customer needs.

At the heart of ITW’s Business Model are the company’s core values:  Integrity, Respect, Trust, Shared Risk and Simplicity.  Equally as important, ITW is committed to fostering diverse and inclusive workplaces that bring together unique perspectives, experiences, and ideas.
