ITW Commercial Construction, NA is seeking a Network Administrator to provide support by delivering quick response, technical assistance, problem solving, and proactive support for network infrastructure services (including the installation, setup, scripting, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network software and hardware). This role is based out of Itasca and reports to the IT Manager.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Establish network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration for multiple sites via SonicWALL VPN, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Maintain virtualized VMWare environment. SQL Database administration, Shoretel VoIP and VEEAM Backup infrastructure.
  • Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
  • Proactive assessment and evaluation of current infrastructure to discover opportunities for enhancement.
  • Oversee technical assistance and support for incoming help desk tickets related to computer systems, hardware, or software.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues. Identify and escalate situations regarding urgent attention.
  • Perform a daily infrastructure, backup logs and document the process results based on the IT audit guidelines.
  • Serve as a project leader on key IT projects for internal initiatives and external customer deliverables.
  • Inventory management for all computers, printers, phones, cell phones and users within the organization. Produces and maintain documentation showing all software installations, printer setups, new user setups, and other critical day-to-day procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree required, focus on Information Systems or Computer Science required a plus.
  • At least 3+ years of experience working with the VMWare environment and Microsoft Family of networking and server products along
  • At least 3+ years of experience working with networking technologies such as routers, switches, Shoretel VoIP and firewalls.
  • 5+ years of Active Directory and GPO experience. (Required)
  • 5+ years Windows Server (AD, DFS, IIS, ADFS, NAP, DNS, DHCP and managing Group Policy
  • 5+ years routers, switches, wireless, SonicWALL, VPN client
  • 3+ years of VEEAM Backup infrastructure and Veritas BackupEXEC execution. Disaster recovery system periodic testing for multiple location.
  • Operational knowledge in wireless / mobile communications management Experience with MDM is plus.
  • Support of design and expansion of data archiving systems and SAN data replication infrastructure for multilocation.
  • Knowledge of relay functions, Barracuda SPAM / antivirus filtering techniques, email archiving, LDAP concepts
  • Previous experience with SQL Database basic administration and knowledge of EDI solutions. Knowledge of Navision ERP is plus.
  • Off hours’ work may be required in some instances.
  • 10% domestic travel
