ITW Specialty Films designs, manufactures and markets specialized coated and/or metalized films for the Transaction Card, Security Documents, Medical IV bags, and Consumer Packaging markets.  The division leverages unique core competencies and technologies in films, foils, laminates, holography and transfers to address customer needs globally.  ITW Specialty Films operates in 13 locations in North America, Europe and Asia.

Job description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative intern to join our marketing team during the summer of 2019.  As part of the ITW Specialty Films Marketing team, the Marketing intern helps execute the marketing plans and tactics to acquire and engage our end users and supports commercialization efforts in a global market.   The scope of responsibilities is broad and may include involvement in gathering, analyzing and applying Voice of the Customer as well as secondary market/business/customer data to new product development and new product launches.

This internship will help you grow your professional skills and broaden your experience as you contribute to the marketing group and our company-wide goals.

Job Requirements

What you will do:

  • Review current product offerings and recommend opportunities to simplify the product line.

  • Assist with segment market research.

  • Interview customers for innovation ideas and confirmation of our product value.  

  • Support new product market launches.


What we are looking for:

  • Rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelors’ Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Advertising, Business or other related field, who has maintained a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and will be graduating in either May 2019 or December 2020.

  • Critical Thinking & Decision Making: Ability to make logical and sound decisions and to know when to act independently and when to seek assistance.

  • Curiosity & Learning Orientation:  Actively identifying new areas for learning and applying newly gained knowledge/skill on the job.

  • Drive to Excel:  Driven to succeed and willing to go the extra mile.  Perseveres in the face of obstacles and challenges.

  • Interpersonal Skills & communication:  Ability to work collaboratively and partner well with others, express oneself verbally and in writing, and listen well.

  • Proficient in computer skills:  Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
