 Basic Description:

The Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the Troy Campus.  This position will coordinate the facilities maintenance operations to meet the Company’s safety, quality and productivity goals.  The individual will support the maintenance team with a passion for excellence, overseeing the training of employees and setting departmental goals.  A “Can do” attitude and motivational work ethic is required.  The Maintenance Coordinator will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will supervisor mechanical and electrical technicians for a 3-shift facility.

 Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership to ensure the highest standards are achieved and maintained in terms of safety, personnel, quality, and efficiency.

  • Execute effectively the daily/weekly maintenance schedule by deploying personnel and resources.

  • Effectively manage the partnership with maintenance and production departments by ensuring long and short-term planning, scheduling and processes are completed.

  • Regular follow up with maintenance team during their assigned tasks to ensure work is performed in a safe and efficient manner, share advice, and give positive feedback.

  • Act as a technical resource and coach to maintenance team members and peers.

  • Manage training requirements.

  • Provide a high level of support to the plant reliability program (PM’s) to enable short and long-term success in proactive asset management.

  • Take direct control in managing emergency maintenance activities.

  • Manage effectively all contractors on site performing maintenance activities (safety, work quality & performance).

  • Responsible to monitor various KPI’s to measure the effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities in the various maintenance functions.

  • Communicate and work in cooperation with production personnel to ensure equipment up-time is maintained at the highest possible standards in terms of product quality, productivity, and efficiency.

  • Participate in maintenance budgeting and ensure maintenance costs are well managed.

  • Perform “on-call” duties on rotation with the supervisory team.

  • Facilitate and promote a positive working environment, and empower team.

  • Create/maintain superior team safety awareness.

Job Requirements

  • High School education with post high school education in the trades, engineering, technical, business management, or equivalent job experience.

  • Minimum 3 Years of experience in direct supervision or management in maintenance.

  • Experience in project management.

  • Experience in electro-mechanical and utility systems (compressed air, HVAC, etc.), Industrial electronic controls, PLC programming, Integrated Drive Systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, GE, ABB, etc.).

  • Experience in he implementation of process controls. Working knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot PLC’s/HMI’s/SCADA systems and networks.

  • High aptitude in the use of various computer software (excel, word & other MS software).

  • Knowledge of CMMS and TPM programs.

  • Established track record of developing and maintaining a safe work culture.

  • Proven leadership skills demonstrated ability learn and work effectively in a team environment.

  • Excellent communicator (both written and oral), self-directed and highly motivated requiring minimal direct guidance.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high paced environment.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving and decision-making skills.
