Key Account Manager – ITW Automotive Japan

Position Summary:

Key Account Manager, ITW Automotive Japan will report to Sales Manager, Air Flow Management China, and will be responsible managing the sales activities for Air Flow Management with global JOEM accounts leader, who should bridge Japan to US, to EU and to CN.

Location preference: Japan


Leverage local market knowledge to focus on growing and maintaining core products and introduce new ones applying an “outside in” discipline with meaningful $/Car, value proposition and a sustainable differentiation.

Nurtures customer relationships that provide insight and a landscape where ITW has a competitive advantage through our “cradle to grave” relationships.

Ownership of comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to understand the market niche, product development and penetration opportunities for ITW.

Continue to strengthen relationships and maximize synergies with ITW Global Automotive unit.

Support the ITW innovation strategies utilizing the ITW Toolbox.

Works closely with the Sales Manager to ensure that sales strategies and customer targets are achieved.

Price negotiations

Support Sales Manager during AP and LRP planning

Takes ownership on Products on future Focused Platforms within the Long Range Planning periods.

Contract responsibility (terms and conditions)

Nurtures an environment consistent with the ITW values and culture.

Job Requirements

Position Skills and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree - B.A. /B.S. from four-year College or University in Business or Engineering or equivalent ITW experience.

•  Automotive plastic and/or metal engineering and /or project management experience is a must – a proven track record of projected innovative diversified products is a must.

•  Converting identified potentials in differentiated saleable products.

•  4 to 5 years of experience in engineering management and/or project management.

•  Exceptional track record of developing, implementing and analyzing strategic business (competitive), marketing and sales strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives, providing personal leadership through example.

•  Proven track record of successful customer negotiations.

•  Understanding market trends and customer requirements.

•  Good customer relationship to his OEM

•  Proven ability to manage complexity and change.

•  Demonstrated ability to make tough business and leadership decisions.

•  Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with experience in communicating and working with remote regions.

•  Proven ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies along with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team-oriented environment.

•  Personally driven and motivates others to excel.

•  80/20 mindset.

•  Willing to travel; domestic and world-wide.
