Division Description:


ITW Medical manufactures and sells components and finished devices for use in Medical Imaging, Filtration, Infusion, and Minimally Invasive applications. We offer three highly-respected medical product brands - Coeur, Filtertek & Precise Biomedical – supplying medical devices, components and service to global medical device brands.   Filtertek manufactures molded filtration and flow control components.  Precise provides technical service, maintenance & training for contrast media injectors. Coeur is a leading provider of disposable diagnostic imaging consumables.  Our division has 5 locations (4 US based, 1 located in Ireland) and 360 full-time employees.


 


Summary:


The Finance Manager is primarily responsible for managing and performing the finance and accounting functions of manufacturing plant located at Hebron, IL.  The Finance Manager will perform assignments in accordance with ITW Policy, procedures and generally accepted accounting principles. This position will report to the Division Controller located in Hebron, IL.


Job Requirements


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with plant Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, HR and IT in support of the business.

  • Manage business process automation assessment, implementation and business optimization.

  • Drive execution of the ITW business model (80/20) demonstrated through ‘best in class’ performance, measured through the EWM metrics / financial & operational performance indicators.

  • Manage cadence of monthly outlooking exercise, holding the organization accountable to a +/- 2% variance vs. prior outlook.

  • Actively engage with the operations team, challenging status quo and proactively identifying and partnering in efficiency improvements resulting in YOY improvement in conversion cost.

  • Work with commercial, engineering & marketing teams to drive margin improvements through 80/20 differentiated pricing and VA/VE.

  • Develop predictive modeling tools necessary to forecast/improve margin (Pricing and BB analysis), operational inefficiencies, and O/H spend.

  • Employ ITW toolbox to improve administrative functions in Accounting and Finance:  Benchmark and reduce A/P transactions.

  • Prepare and/or maintain monthly financial and consolidated statements, supporting schedules, balance sheets, general ledgers and other financial records involving cash, plant payroll, accounts receivables, accounts payables, and inventories which include raw materials, finished goods, and work in process

  • Collaborate strategic sourcing and supply chain essential activities with division and corporate resources to drive lower material costs and improve efficiencies within inventory management goals.

  • Performs special projects and analysis including variance trend analysis, capital project requests, purchasing savings and certain cost analysis.  Performs other related analytical duties as required.

  • Support operations during annual physical inventory and annual cost roll process.

  • Continuous improvement implementation in accounting systems and processes to enhance responsiveness to operations management needs

  • Identify, lead and develop talent in order to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness in meeting organizational goals. This may include: selection and onboarding of talent; communicating effectively to foster a culture of engagement, creating goal alignment, and coaching through feedback, and development planning.

  • Develops solid financial acumen in across the organization.

  • Supervises direct reports which include Staff Accountant, Accounting Analyst, and Cost Accounting Analyst.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance required.

  • 4-6 years Finance and reporting experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Must have strong analytical skills, work with minimal supervision, be highly motivated

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to effectively work in cross functional team environment.

  • Advanced MS Excel skills; Microsoft Office; BPCS/LX/Infor or Made2Manage ERP system experience a plus.

  • Excellence in data analytics, leveraging relational databases and tabular models.

  • Ability to engage other functions as a true business partner, driving positive change through influence.

  • Drives engagement, ownership, and accountability across functions.

  • Able to travel to various locations within ITW Medical and Corporate office as needed.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

  • Limited physical effort required.  Limited exposure to physical risk.

  • Some exposure to physical risk in production and lab areas, which may include limited exposure to chemicals, heat, humidity, machinery with moving parts, and noise. PPE required.
