Job Description

ITW Medical is comprised of three highly-respected medical product brands - Coeur, Filtertek & Precise Biomedical – supplying medical devices, components and service to global medical device brands.   Filtertek manufactures molded filtration and flow control components.  Precise provides technical service, maintenance & training for contrast media injectors.   Coeur is a leading provider of disposable diagnostic imaging consumables.  

 

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY FOR FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER:

This position serves as a key role in providing, preventative maintenance, full service support and integration between OEM customer/partners, hospitals and imaging centers.  This position also represents a front-line position in uncovering disposable sales opportunities and assisting in the “pull through” of our disposables within the confines of service support. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES:

  • Provides specified coverage in the US for Preventative Maintenance and repairs/corrective maintenance

  • Up to 60-80% travel primarily in assigned territory but can be deployed as needed throughout the US  

  • Maintains and supports key OEM customers where ITW Medical is the primary service provider such as ACIST and Nemoto.

  • Maintains knowledge of all technical training, processes and policies to support and exceed customer expectations.

  • Develops thorough understanding of customer base, market and individual customer needs.

  • Effectively utilizes technology and process to drive efficiency    

  • Provide comprehensive and accurate electronic, paper documentation and other information needed for every service activity.  Must be done accurately and on time. 

  • Monitors and reacts to customer vendor managed inventory requirements by maintaining a remote stock of parts.  Periodic audits of stock required and comprehensive daily documentation of usage required.

  • Communicates all requirements to Precise as needed for support and maintaining seamless integration between Precise and the customer  

  • Maintains customer master notes file on OnBase and/or systems assigned.

  • Maintains customer documentation notifications and is proactive in early approval for annual PM’s.

  • Assists in the resolution of errors related to invoicing, pricing, incorrect shipments of parts, loaners or returns.  Escalates problems and concerns as appropriate

  • Generates scheduled and adhoc reports of critical service information and trend analytics to be used to formulate business decisions and sales strategies

  • Works and collaborates closely with Precise Customer Service team to receive critical assignments and share local information and update.


Job Requirements


 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Minimum Associates degree in Engineering or similar field of study. Bachelors Degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in service/field service. Previous work experience that includes biomed or third-party medical service preferred.

  • Highly competent technical skills with sensitive electronic devices.

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills; demonstrates good listening skills; able to communicate status on process with colleagues, keep team members informed, and responds clearly to customer inquiries.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrates a positive attitude and professional demeanor in working with all levels within the hospital service organization.

  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical specifications

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and professionally interact with customers

  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

  • Comfortable working in confined spaces

  • No pacemakers or metal implants due to service activity in an MRI department
