Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

 Safety – 20%

  • Follow all 5S standards. Ensures safe and neat work area is maintained.
  • Makes sure safety procedures are being followed, i.e. exercise, PPE where required, etc.
  • Remedies unsafe conditions where possible and recommends long-term solutions to safety concerns.
  • +HR 2019 safety requirements

Quality – 20%

  • Train distribution clerks in proper ordering and recording of inventory procedures.
  • Work with distribution clerks to develop best practices and modifies work instructions as required.
  • Work with quality and purchasing teams on rework and MRD inventory
  • Communicates parts’ issues with Supplier Relations and Manufacturing Engineering and assists in their resolution.

Cost – 10%

  • Maximizes utilization of personnel for lowest cost production.
  • Maintain low inventory levels through a high number of inventory turns.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate reserve levels on inventory.

Distribution – 25%

  • Schedules and shipping of service parts assemblies as required.
  • Manages inventories to ensure availability in house of all parts necessary to meet production requirements.
  • Directs stocking and cleaning procedures at appropriate time.
  • Enters daily shipping, receiving, and cycle counting data in appropriate reports.
  • Continually evaluate and react to space requirement for parts and supplies to ensure FIFO.

Team Effectiveness – 10%

  • Track and provide daily feedback on performance.
  • Communicates information from other departments, e.g. Quality, Supplier Relations, pertinent to daily operations.
  • Communicates issues to Supervisor and assists in developing resolutions.

 Supplier Relations – 15%

  • Ensure that parts are effectively expedited and that vendors are notified when shortages occur.
  • Keep Purchasing informed of any parts issues and provide information needed for PPI.
  • Work with supplier to establish on time delivery goal.
  • Maintain reserve quantities on parts racks.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, 1-3 years warehouse experience
  • Disciplined self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of inventory and cycle counting procedures
  • PC skills required including spreadsheet, word processing and data entry
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to operate forklifts in a safe manner.  Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in written form effectively with co-workers, other departments and vendors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential.

The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area where under certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and gloves.  Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures.  Industrial lighting provided.
