Job Description


General responsibility for the financial activities of the business unit.  Manages, assigns and audits work of accounting personnel.  Directs the timely preparation of accounting records, reports, and special analysis.  Analyzes financial data and prepares forecasts for management. Reports to the VP-GM of the division and serves as a member of the Division Leadership team.  Responsible to participate in developing the division strategy as well as it’s execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1)         Internal reporting analysis – Assists in identifying problems/opportunities and recommends solutions, i.e. 80/20 analysis, price/volume analysis, reports on key accounts, etc.

2)         Prepares reports which summarize and forecast division’s business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations, i.e. Long‑Range Plan, Annual Plan, Quarterly Summaries, etc.

3)         Drives financial decisions within division.

4)         Maintains proper control procedures and simple accounting system.

5)         Directs preparation of budgets.

6)         Oversees capital projects.

7)         Prepares required financial information and reports for ITW Corporate and submits in a timely and accurate fashion.

8)         Handles audits of business units' financial and accounting practices.

9)         Oversees accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll processes.

10)       Oversees inventories and reconciles results.

11)       Directs and oversees IT team and projects.

12)       Directs standard cost work‑up.

13)      People Management and Talent building.


Directly supervises a global team in the areas of general accounting, payroll, accounts payable and receivables.  Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and resolving problems.  

Job Requirements


Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; minimum 10 years’ experience with at least 3 years as a Plant Controller or equivalent experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment; prior supervisory experience required; Finance experience with US and Non-US locations (preferably Europe and Mexico) required; prior accounting experience preferred; knowledge of quality audits a plus; automotive a plus; must be computer literate.
