Demand Planner

Job Summary:

This Demand Planning position is responsible for all demand activities associated with customers and products. The Demand Planner creates and maintains demand models for their customers, incorporating business intelligence and historical information gathered from Sales, Marketing, NPD, and other sources.

Reports to:

Supply Chain Manager

The 80:

-          Partner with Sales, Marketing, NPD and customers to understand demand drivers.

-          Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare demand data, develop statistical demand models, and evaluate demand results.

-          Coordinate cross-functional activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the demand model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.

-          Provide input to the Supply Planner in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.

The 20:

-          Coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning.

-          Maintain demand system data.

-          Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process.

Key Deliverables to Demonstrate Success in 12 months:

-          Create and execute Demand plan which incorporates current and accurate market information that allows to correctly predict customers demand and provides the supply planner with the appropriate information to meet the customers demand.

-          Provide insights on process improvement for the Demand Planner and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and performance metrics.

Skills and Experience Needed:

-          Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience

-          5 years’ experience in Supply Chain/Demand Planning

-          Strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills

-          Strong Computer skills and proficiency in Excel

-          Familiarity with ERP systems such as JDE
