Magnaflux, a division of Illinois Tool Works (Fortune 250), is a leading worldwide supplier of magnetic particle, dye penetrant inspection equipment and associated chemical products used for applications within the Aerospace, Automotive, Oil & Gas and Energy markets.

EMEAR Commercial Director is a key leadership position within the European Commercial Team at Magnaflux (a division of ITW) with the primary responsibility being to increase revenue and margins in within the EMEAR markets.

This position requires close collaboration with divisional leadership and marketing teams. As a senior functional leader, this position is responsible for developing and leading the EMEAR commercial team, driving the team to excel and perform to their highest potential.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Owning and hitting/exceeding annual sales targets within EMEAR territory and related accounts
  • Developing and executing strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting key customer relationships
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Understanding of Automotive / Aerospace / O&G industry landscapes and trends
  • Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of EMEAR markets
  • Alignment and simplification of UK and DE based commercial teams
  • Additional duties and tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field and/or Engineering as well as approximately 10+ years of marketing, product management and/or sales experience in a manufacturing environment.  Advanced technical or business-related degree an advantage.
  • At least 4 years’ experience managing and developing remote sales teams with a demonstrated ability to develop sales strategy and achieve desired results.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and ability to position products against competitors
  • Strong change management skills with previous experience leading change in a sales organization
  • Knowledge of the automotive or aerospace supply chain within Europe. Understanding the buying processes and how to take share.
  • Must have in-depth understanding of, or experience in, consumables and capital equipment sales, preferably with material testing equipment. Experience should include all aspects of distribution including direct and channel across multiple industries.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of material testing applications, target markets or quality control. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Experienced in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proficient in Salesforce (or similar CRM)
  • Traditional office environment with little or no exposure to adverse conditions. 
  • Ability to travel up to 50% required both domestically and internationally. Additional travel may be required depending on business requirements. Travel amounts will vary depending on where the annual cycle but could involve anything from day trips to 10-day international excursions.
