Business Division – Vulcan Cooking North America

Business Development Manager II

Scope & Function

The position will be customer-centric versus product-centric. It will require understanding the deeper needs and buying motives of the school nutrition programs and ensuring the product fits.

The position will be responsible for market segment insight, support territory managers and product categories, and provide analysis, with the goal to grow sales and increased market penetration for Vulcan Cooking products.

A competitive and winning attitude are essential as the BDM develops and executes tactical plans by product

category to meet sales goals including penetration within the foodservice consultant community for specified targets.

Target Opportunity

Public and private schools that provide meals (school nutrition programs) to K-12 school children. The primary meal is lunch followed by breakfast. All public schools with few exceptions participate in the National School Lunch Program.

School Food Authority (SFA) is non-profit business with 95% of the revenue from USDA/FNS and other government programs with some cash revenues. The program success is based on participation of the school children (customers). Competition is the “brown bag” or other non-program foods.
