Role Summary:

This position is for an Automotive Electro-mechanical Designer responsible for the design and development of innovative automotive electronic modules and components. This position demands attention to detail, accuracy and technical competence as well as being responsible for Schematic Capture, PCB board layout, Design Verification and Test of the designed hardware.

Primary Responsibilities:

·       Creates new electronic/electro-mechanical product designs based on customer requests or internal development.

·       Understand customer procedures and implements or adapts development to meet those requirements.

·       Implements new designs into production by creating designs and following the entire development process.

·       Assists the Quality Department in analyzing of warranty and other customer returns.

·       Works in conjunction with leadership to develop long-range and short-range goals for self.

·       Establish a forward-looking hardware roadmap focused on complexity reduction and a robust sourcing strategy

·       Ensures on-time delivery of product development milestones.

·       Supports product or system layout and detailed schematics/drawings as required.

·       Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.

·       Performs power circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, and circuit simulation in order to meet customer requirements.

·       Completes power dissipation calculations, worst-case analysis (including component tolerances, variation over temperature and life), and design failure mode effect analysis for automotive electrical designs to meet customer requirements.

·       Interacts with suppliers for quotes, specifications and samples.

·       Establish statement of work for contract manufacturers for prototypes and production support, while maintaining excellent working relationships with key contacts at all hardware suppliers Maintains focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, and USa

·       Principles/techniques and makes process improvement recommendations to management.


Job Requirements


·       Bachelor of Science in Engineering

·       5+ years of hardware design experience

·       2+ years of automotive hardware design experience a plus

·       Self-starter and self-motivated with ability to engage with little guidance

·       Excellent problem solving, attention to detail

·       Must have sound judgement to make confident decisions

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Highly creative and practical problem solver

·       Must manage time effectively and completes work assignments

·       Must have the ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines

·       An in-depth knowledge of automotive specifications and automotive electronics and knowledge of test procedures required for automotive parts a plus
