Job Description

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

The candidate will work as part of a cross functional marketing and sales team supporting the conversion of fleets at targeted accounts. Targeted accounts will include primarily large current and new to ITW welding accounts. This position will work closely with Corporate Account Manager’s (CAM), District Managers DM-IDM, Field Applications Engineers and other technical staff that are targeted at driving improvement at a customer’s location.

In addition to supporting sales efforts of current products this person will be a key welding technology expert in the manufacturing segments, proficient in the GMAW, GMAW-P, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes and their use in manufacturing applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • “In house” industry expert for New Product Development projects, support projects through all phases of NPD and throughout the product life cycle.This role will closely support the Product and Market Segment manager functions.

  • Training customers in the use of new equipment, both in house and in the field; interface with various levels of an organization, i.e. production and engineering, purchasing, and senior management.

  • In addition to direct customers support this position will engage in relevant technical industry groups including code bodies and associations driving ITW welding leadership on important initiatives.

  • Identify customers’ needs within manufacturing segments and determine the best ITW solution to improve the customer’s overall process.

  • Communicate and collaborate well with welding and “non-welding” professionals.

  • Familiar with welding codes that apply to the manufacturing segment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex welding cells (secondary circuit, volt sense, cable management, etc.)

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology.

  • 2-5 years’ experience in industrial manufacturing welding.

  • Experience in manufacturing, supporting both processes and procedures related to industrial manufacturing.

  • Applicant must be proficient in the GMAW, GMAW-P, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes.

  • Candidate must be a self-starter and a team player, with good planning and multitask organizational skills

  • Have a proven track record of implementing welding processes in a production environment

  • 3-5 years related work experience in procedure development, production support and welder training.

  • Demonstrate honesty, keeps commitments, and behaves in a consistent manner.

  • High personal confidence and ability to be assertive.Can be direct as well as diplomatic.
