Job Title: Accounting Manager

Location: Solon, OH


The Accounting Manager reports to and works closely with the Division Controller to produce timely, accurate financial statements for the business unit, and to provide financial support to the leadership team, Marketing, Sales, and Operations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage daily accounting and reporting activities, including general and cost accounting
  • Coordinate monthly close to ensure timely preparation and issuance of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and provide variance analysis vs. budget and forecast
  • Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate entering of monthly and quarterly financials, projections, and tax data into ITW Corporate reporting software
  • Support the operational management team and Division Controller in the business analysis review process
  • Expert in cost accounting activities including Standards, Physical Inventory coordination, Review and Preparation of inventory reserves, MOH and ongoing inventory standard costing activities
  • Work closely with the Sales and Product Marketing groups to provide ad hoc analysis and support of new product development and performance
  • Assist Division Controller in internal and external audits, and data requests including supplier spend analysis, unclaimed property audits
  • Directly manage the AP/AR Specialist and provide oversight for 2 finance professionals
  • Identify, create and maintain necessary business unit procedure documentation and manage opportunities for process and control improvements
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 7+ years of solid accounting experience with 3-5 years being in cost accounting
  • Demonstrated proficiency with JD Edwards or comparable ERP system
  • Manufacturing environment experience is preferred
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required.
  • Intermediate Excel (PivotTables/Lookups) and general PC knowledge required
  • Understanding of Access and relational databases is a plus or desire/ability to learn these skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal skills, and maintaining a professional demeanor are necessary
