Accounting Manager
Position Location: Lexington, KY

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will report to the BU Controller and be responsible for establishing and maintaining accurate and effective financial processes for ITW Powertrain Fastening while adhering to ITW policies, procedures and GAAP.  This role will manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and staff accounting roles.  He or she will support the BU Controller with analysis, reporting and forecasting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information in compliance with ITW policies and GAAP. Develop and maintain financial reporting processes that exceed audit requirements.
  • Ensure documentation and monitoring of internal controls in accordance with ITW policies.
  • Manage and lead accounts payable, accounts receivable and staff accounting functions for two sites.
  • Facilitate and complete monthly close requirements including managing and reviewing the accounting staff’s work.
  • Support BU Controller and leadership team to achieve unit goals and objectives, including the annual operating plan, long range strategic plans, capital investments and other ad hoc projects.
  • Provide operational analysis to facilitate accurate decisions and strategies.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits as well as other corporate requests.
  • Perform/oversee annual and as-required standard cost setting process and annual physical inventory.
  • Identify, lead and develop talent to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness in meeting company goals.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • S. in Accounting required
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required with standard cost setting knowledge
  • CPA or CMA certification preferable
  • Must be able to adhere to deadlines, manage conflicting priorities and work under pressure
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare analysis and forecasts as needed.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and work well within a team
  • Knowledge of QAD ERP system and Microsoft Office software preferable

 

Work Environment

The majority of the Accounting Manager’s time will be spent in an office environment. Occasionally the employee may be required to spend time in the manufacturing and distribution facilities but will be expected to understand manufacturing processes.
