Job Location:Libertyville, IL

Job Grade:Non-Exempt

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

The manufacturing engineer intern is responsible for supporting the Process Engineer and Plant Manager in developing processes to ensure quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met within Global Tool Unit. This internship will focus on continuous improvement, troubleshooting problems with production and implementing corrective actions in the GTU Libertyville facility.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Improve productivity by performing ergonomic evaluations, time studies, simulation, and line balancing
  • Study and improve plant safety
  • Process documentation
  • Identify process and assembly gaps in quality, productivity, and safety and recommend and implement improvements.

Expected Learnings:

  • Knowledge of process flow and documentation
  • Ability to create and interpret work instructions, time studies, and flow diagrams
  • Understanding of production inefficiencies, data interpretation, and problem resolution
  • Ability to work on multi-disciplinary teams

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field
  • Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering degree strongly preferred
  • Possess strong analytic and statistic skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
