Front-Line Supervisor - Piqua, OH
Reporting to the Shipping Manager – The Front-Line Supervisor is an entry level supervisor into the operations for the distribution of OEM parts for the Hobart Parts business. Responsible for all cycle count team and functions within the warehouse.  The supervisor will be the main SME for the implementation for the ERP.  The supervisor is responsible to create and improve processes and ensure top performance from all areas.  This roll will be responsible for the day to day activities in regard to facility maintenance.  Overall this a growth position to learn operational responsibilities, drive accountability with Cycle Counting team/program, Training and facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise and assists in daily Cycle Count activities: responsible for ensuring Cycle Counts meeting ITW standards and drives yearly inventory exemption.  Also, responsible for department 5S and all other task related to the shipping process.
  • Develop and carry out Training program for all operational functions
  • Daily facility contact – assist in major facility projects
  • Run and be responsible for the Safety Committee and Safety Training
  • Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the department activities.
  • Developing and maintaining departmental work instructions for all tasks.
  • Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by work flow.
  • Interpreting company policies to workers and enforcing safety regulations.
  • Recommending and implementing measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance.
  • Continuously improve shipping operations through the use of lean enterprise practices.
  • Conferring with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serving internal customers.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including: a variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day; repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory from shelves; regular lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of 30-40 pounds, occasional climbing of ladders; usage of pallet jacks.
  • Operate all Powered Equipment in the building
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations
  • 1-3 years demonstrated success supervising a team or an Associate’s degree with 3-5 years related experience
  • Demonstrated competence in supervising an hourly workforce
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools
  • Experience with lean methodologies.
